Camerlengo is Curator in Charge of Costume and Textile Arts at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. She has curated, co-curated, and presented exhibitions on a range of subjects for the Museums, including Contemporary Muslim Fashions (2018) and Patrick Kelly: Runway of Love (2021). She is currently organizing the special exhibition, Fashioning San Francisco: A Century of Style, on the Museums’ collection of twentieth- and twenty-first-century high fashion and haute couture. Laura holds a M.A. in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from Parsons, the New School of Design/Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. |

She was Chair of the Textile Institute and has worked internationally as consultant and supporting the establishment of art, design, and fashion related institutions including in India, Turkey, and China. |

In 2004, she became an official member of the Italian Journalists Association and collaborated with various international media outlets, including Conde Nast Italia, as a fashion editor and stylist. In 2014, she was appointed as the editor-in-chief for the launch project of Numero France's Brazilian edition and worked on the project for two years. Her professional efforts in connecting Europe and Asia led her to become an ambassador for the "Alessi 100 Values Collection" project in 2021. |
